Dr. Alaa El Din Mahmoud is an Assistant Professor in the Environmental Sciences Department at Alexandria University and a co-lead of the Green Technology Group. Dr. Mahmoud is also a member of the alumni professional development unit in the Faculty of Science and the Vice-Chair of the National Committee of the UNESCO-MAB (Man and Biosphere) program.
His research focuses on interdisciplinary environmental issues related to sustainability, water/wastewater treatment, nanotechnology, and green chemistry. Dr. Mahmoud's main teaching activities are in the areas of environmental science (sustainability, conservation of natural resources, remediation, land degradation, etc.) and environmental chemistry (water and wastewater treatment, integrated waste management, etc.)
Dr. Mahmoud is the author of numerous international peer-reviewed publications, including research papers, review articles, book chapters, and conference papers and has participated in many national and international workshops and conferences as a presenter, session chair, and member of technical committees. In addition, he serves as a frequent reviewer for several journals published by Elsevier, Springer, the Royal Society of Chemistry, and the Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI).
