Ariel Ricker

ariel.ricker@gmail.com

Ariel Ricker recently graduated with her Juris Doctor degree from William Mitchell College of Law, where she concentrated on international humanitarian law and sovereign debt lending and borrowing practices. Ariel has studied effects of Shoah on religious communities in Jerusalem, Israel. She has also worked in human rights defense and state leader immunity claims in Geneva, Switzerland.

Ariel's first book, "Rationalis: An Examination of (Ir)Rationality, Legality, and Identity in the Third Reich and Shoah" was published to critical acclaim in 2013. Focusing on the (ir)rationality of genocideers in the Holocaust and the legal process by which identities of victims are transformed from "homo viator" to "homo sacer," this book also applied semiotic squares to genocidal (ir)rationality.

Her second book, due for release in Summer 2015, is a primer on the intersection of modern sovereign debt practices and state implementation of human rights.
