Aaron Afilalo

Aaron Afilalo is a Law Professor at the Camden faculty at the Rutgers Law School. He is serving on this position for over 18 years.

His scholarly interests include the treatment of intellectual property in free trade areas, the law governing the elimination of non-tariff barriers to trade, the European Union's system of judicial remedies and the international rules for the protection of cross-border investment.

He earned his Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government at the Harvard University. Aaron Afilalo also holds a J.D. magna cum laude from Boston University School of Law and an LL.M. from the Harvard Law School with specialization in International Law.

Afilalo is also a noted author, writer, professor, and philosopher, who writes constantly about business transactions, international trade law and contracts.

He has authored and co-authored a number of books and publications. Through Cambridge University Press, Afilalo has published a book about international trade law and institutions. Furthermore, he has co-authored the book The New Global Trading Order: The Evolving State and the Future of Trade’.

He was a law clerk to Chief Justice Paul J. Liacos of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. After practicing law for several years in New York City, he specialized in cross-border commercial and financial transactions between Europe and the U.S. and in intellectual property matters. In addition to practicing law, he taught international trade and intellectual property courses at Suffolk Law School in Boston and served as a legal writing instructor for graduate students at Harvard Law School. Previously, he taught European Union law, public and private international law, and banking law at the University of Mississippi School of Law for one year before joining the Rutgers-Camden faculty in 2010.
