Prof. Wasim Ahmad is an internationally acknowledged expert on the taxonomy of soil inhabiting nematodes of the order Dorylaimida and Mononchida. He has to his credit description of some 265 new species and over two dozen new genera of nematodes from around the world (India, Costa Rica, Singapore, Japan, China, Korea, New Zealand, Fiji, Bennin, Azores, Colombia, Turkey, Nicaragua etc ect). He has published over 150 peer reviewed research papers in top nematology journals of the world.The top of his publication is the book “Dorylaimida”. Every thing we can and must know on that large and so important group of nematodes is to be found in the splendid monograph. It is a manual that may not be missing on the desk of any Nematologist, A monumental work indeed. He has also published a book entitled Nematode Pest Identification : an Identification manual. He has experience of working in top Nematology laboratories of England, Germany, Holland, belgium, Spain, Japan, China, Korea, Costa Rica etc. He is on the editorial board of Journal of Nematode Morphology and Systematics and is receipient of several awards and Fellowships.
