I am a member of a South Asian One Health Cohort engaged in implementation of the project entitled 'Integrating Education and Action for One Health' , funded by the European Commission under the One Health Program in Asia (Europe Aid/133708/C/ACT/Multi; Contract DCI-ASIE/2013/331-217). Currently, I am involved in a One Health study titled ” Characterization of the movement and contact patterns of poultry potentially associated with transmission of newly-introduced subtypes of avian influenza virus in two districts of Bangladesh, using social network analysis”. The objective is to develop policy for detecting the presence of a new subtype of highly pathogenic avian influenza if it should enter Bangladesh and control policies to minimize the spread and impact of such a virus on poultry and/or humans.
