She is a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology and Food Science. She obtained her BSc in Chemistry from the University of Ioannina, in 1991 and her PhD in Bioinorganic Chemistry from the University of Cyprus in 2003. She worked as a Visiting Scientist at Colorado State University (1994-1997), on a NIH funded program dealing with the synthesis of novel Vanadium compounds and their potency to act as antidiabetic drugs through the inhibition of Phosphatases. Her PhD thesis was dealing with the synthesis and characterization of novel substituted hydroquinone complexes. During 2003-2005 she did Post Doctoral Research at the Department of Chemistry, University of Cyprus.

She conducted research on the synthesis of novel Selenium compounds conjugated to Vitamin E, capable to act as chemopreventing agents and to present anticancer properties, leading to a patent. Her research was funded by the Research Promotion Foundation through six proposals, while she is currently participating in two new proposals of two and three years duration, respectively.

Current Funding research proposals:
1. “New florescence Materials to enhance Solar Cell yield”/406/35, Research Promotion Foundation (ΙΠΕ), Cyprus-Greece, 10000 C£, 2 years (2006-2008), Coordinator: A. Keramidas
2. “Novel Materials for the improvement of Solar Cells”/BIKY/506/19, Research Promotion Foundation (ΙΠΕ), Cyprus-Greece, 90000 C£, 3 years (2006-2009), Coordinator: A. Keramidas
