Chulwoo Shin, Caroline S Chaboo, Shawn M Clark (2012)  Phylogenetic revision of the Hispaniolan endemic genus Asteriza Chevrolat, 1836 (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Cassidinae: Ischyrosonychini).   Zootaxa 3227: 34–53
Abstract: The cassidine genus Asteriza Chevrolat, 1836 is redescribed and two new species, Asteriza blakeae Shin, Chaboo & Clark and Asteriza tainosa Shin, Chaboo & Clark, are described from the Dominican Republic. A phylogenetic analysis and an illustrated key to the four Asteriza species are provided. Asteriza blakeae is diagnosed by the reddish lateral margin of the pronotum and more swollen brownish elytral margins. Asteriza tainosa is diagnosed by the relatively swollen maxillary and labial palpi and dominant yellow coloration of the elytra and pronotum.

Chulwoo Shin, Caroline S Chaboo (2012)  A revision and phylogenetic analysis of Stoiba Spaeth 1909 (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae)   Zookeys 224: 1–36
Abstract: Stoiba Spaeth, 1909 is revised with a phylogenetic analysis of 38 adult morphological characters for nine Stoiba species and 11 outgroup species (Mesomphaliini, Ischyrosonychini, and Hemisphaerotini). Four Cuban species of Stoiba were not sampled. Parsimony analysis located the four most parsimonious trees. The strict consensus (CI=0.59, RI=0.78, Steps=83) resolved the monophyly of Stoiba. The monophyly of Stoiba is supported by pale yellow antennae, antennomere VII broader than its length, and rounded basal line of pronotum. An illustrated key to ten species of Stoiba is provided along with a distribution map of 11 species. Stoiba rufa Blake is synonymized with S. swartzii (Thunberg) by a morphological comparison which includes female genitalia.

Tae-Kyu Kim, Choru Shin, Kee-Jeong Ahn (2008)  South Korean species of the genus Geodromicus (Coleopterea: Staphylinidae: Omaliinae)   Entomological Society of Canada 140: 641–648
Abstract: In a taxonomic study of the genus Geodromicus Redtenbacher in South Korea, five species are recognized, two of which, G. abdominalis Zerche and G. beibienkoi Tikhomirova, are reported for the first time in South Korea, and G. hermani (Watanabe), previously recorded from South Korea, is reported as a misidentification of G. beibienkoi. A comparison of morphological features of South Korean Geodromicus species, a key, and illustrations of the diagnostic characters are provided.

Choru Shin, Kee-Jeong Ahn (2006)  Camioleum choi, a new species in the omaliine tribe Anthophagini (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) from Korea.   Zootaxa 1227: 57–62
Abstract: Camioleum choi Shin & Ahn, new species (type locality: Mt. Odaesan, Korea) is described, and habitus photo and line illustrations of diagnostic features are provided for its recognition. The differences between C. loripes Lewis and C. choi are discussed.

Young-Bok Cho, Choru Shin, Yong-Gun Choi (2003)  Korean cave species of the superfamily Staphylinoidea (Coleoptera).   Insecta Koreana 20: 2. 139–148
Abstract: Korean species of the superfamily Staphylinoidea were investigated 21 species belonging to three families from 32 local cave sites in this study. Among them, three species, Geodromicus hermani Watanabe, G. nipponensis Watanabe and Bolitobius parasetiger Schulke belonging the family Staphylinidae are newly recorded from Korea and 15 species are newly added in Korean cave-dwelling fauna. Total of 22 species of the superfamily Staphylinoidea are recorded in Korean cave-dwelling fauna.

Choru Shin, Kee-Jeong Ahn (2003)  New record of the genus Boreaphilus C. Sahlberg in Korea (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Omaliinae).   Insecta Koreana 20: 3. 1–4
Abstract: A taxonomic study of the genus Boreaphilus C. Sahlberg in Korea is presented. The genus and two species (B. japonicus Sharp and B. graciliformis Zerche) are reported for the first time in Korea. These two species are easily distinguished by color. Diagnoses, drawings of aedeagi, and habitus photos are provided.

Young-Bok Cho, Choru Shin (2003)  New record of the genus Tympanophorus Nordmann (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) in Korea.   Korean Journal of Entomology 33: 1. 65–67
Abstract: The genus Tympanophorus Nordmann is recorded newly in Korea. Two species, Tympanophorus hayashidai Shibata and T. sauteri Bernhauer, are reported for the first time in Korea. The key, descriptions, and illustrations are presented.
