Chayan Kumer Saha is a Professor at the Department of Farm Power and Machinery, Bangladesh Agricultural University (Bangladesh) since February 2015. He worked as an associate professor at the Department of Farm Power and Machinery at the Bangladesh Agricultural University (Bangladesh) since November 2009. He also worked as a Postdoc Researcher at the Department of Engineering for Livestock Management at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering Potsdam-Bornim (Germany).

His current research interest is primarily climate control and modeling of airflow and gas emission from agricultural buildings. He has considerable interest in renewable energy (especially Biogas) production and their use in livestock management and households use. He has also vast knowledge on agricultural machinery.

During his PhD study his research work was mainly focused on relating and combining experimental and theoretical knowledge in the context of understanding emission process and finding techniques to reduce emission and improve indoor air quality of livestock production. In 2009 he was Visiting Scholar at Purdue Agricultural Air Quality Laboratory, Purdue University (USA). He received his PhD in Environmental Technology from Aarhus University (Denmark) in 2011.

He received his BSc. in Agril. Engg. and MS in Farm Power and Machinery from Bangladesh Agricultural University in 2000 and 2002, respectively. He joined as a Lecturer in the Department of Farm and Machinery of Bangladesh Agricultural University on 27 November 2000 and he was subsequently appointed as an assistant professor on January 2004. He earned his second MSc. in Agricultural and Bioresource Engineering from Wageningen University (the Netherlands) in 2006. He also worked as a Project Researcher at Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand) in 2006. His training on latest technologies of Agricultural Engineering at Chinese Academy of Agricultural and Mechanization Sciences (China) and Asian Institute of Technology in 2003, given him opportunities to broaden his knowledge and network.
