Since 1st June 2013, he joined the Department of Renewable Resources, University of Alberta, as Academic Research Associate.
His main research interests include: i) the molecular and functional characterization of fresh and humified organic matter in soils and sediments, ii) the interactions between humic substances and organic/inorganic pollutants, iii) the utilization of ombrotrophic profiles as archives of atmospheric depositions during centuries, iv) the evolution of organic matter in soils and sediments in relation to climate changes (soils as sinks or sources of C?), and v) biomass utilization in agriculture.
