Abstract: A large research work on an alternative System of making a column-foundation connection for precast elemens has been carried out and reported in this paper. Pad footing made with stel bas plate has been the column-foundation connection investgated. Full scale tests on precast concrete column-foundation connection have been performed. moment capacity, required thickness of the base plate, anchorage characteristics have been studied. The failure mechanism of the connection components have been analysed. Recommendation and directions for structural design of the connection have been provided.
