Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics,
Northwestern University, Chicago
eunus.alii@yahoo.com.au
Improving obesity- and cancer-related metabolic dysfunctions by investigating and controlling body’s’ signaling pathways and metabolism has been the focus of Eunus S. Ali’s research. Using biochemistry and cell biology, he works at the molecular level to identify how to efficiently restore aberrant cellular signaling dynamics in cancer, diabetes, aging and neurological diseases. He has published some significant works in this area in several well-ranked journals including Molecular Cell, Nature Communications, Trends Endocrinol and Metab, Brain. Prior to Postdoc with Dr. Issam Ben-Sahra at Northwestern University, his PhD was completed under the supervision of Dr. Greg Barritt at Flinders University, and MS at Stockholm University Arrhenius Laboratory with Dr. Göran Widmalm.

Eunus’s personal background is also quite diverse. With roots in south Asia, he grew up and lived in the south of Australia, northern Norway, south-eastern part of Sweden, and now north of Chicago. During these experiences, he has been enjoying meeting new friends, discovering different life styles and culture, and continually learning how to do better science.
