Giuseppe Schiavone holds a Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND fellowship at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), where he conducts research in prof. Lacour’s Laboratory for Soft Bioelectronic Interfaces. He received his Ph.D. degree in Microengineering from the University of Edinburgh, UK, and completed postdoctoral research at Heriot-Watt University, UK, and EPFL, after taking on a R&D post in the MEMS industry.
His research interests span the fields of soft bioelectronics, neuroprosthetics and medical devices in general, with particular focus on the translational aspects of technology development and the ethical implications of animal experimentation. He is passionate about the education of the next generation of engineers and an enthusiastic contributor to science outreach events.
