Abstract: Most of the embedded telecom applications running on customized processor boards are needed to record their activities in the form of log messages. These messages help telecom application developers to troubleshoot virtually all kinds of system and application problems. The logger also provides valuable early warning signs and also provides with crucial forensic data .Hence Logger’s performance is to be investigated and optimization is required for logger. In this project we are proposing a method to optimize logger for IPBTS application running on embedded system. This paper describes the procedure to asses and analyse logger with the syslog for telecom application and also elaborates the method to measure the logging time with a test application which contains two threads running on customized processor board. These papers presents the procedure to measure logging time and compare it with optimized syslog package logging time on linux operating file system. With this research experiment for logger, we minimized Layer 1 processing time in IPBTS product development project from 1700 micro seconds to 160 micro seconds. Layer 1 processing time includes channel activatation i.e. non combined CCCH channel, 3 TCHF, 1 SDCCH8 and mode of activation is by BTS controller stub. This paper also presents the experimental results to optimize syslog package for IPBTS application development on linux environment running on MPC 8548E processor board.

Amandeep Mavi, Mandeep Kaur (2012)  Identify Defects in Gears Using Digital Image Processing   International Journal of Engineering Research and Development (IJERD) 1: 6. 49-55
Abstract: Gear defects are a major reason for poor quality and of embarrassment for manufacturers. 0Inspection processes done on these industries are mostly manual and time consuming. To reduce error on identifying gear defects requires more automotive and accurate inspection process. Considering this lacking, this research implements a Gear Defect Recognizer which uses computer vision methodology with the combination of local thresholding to identify possible defects. The recognizer identifies the gear defects within economical cost and produces less error prone inspection system in real time. In order to generate data set, primarily the recognizer captures digital gear images by image acquisition device and converts the RGB images into binary images by restoration process and local threshold techniques. Later, the outputs of the processed image are the area of the faulty portion and compute the possible defective and non –defective gear as an output.

J Sendhil, P K A Muniswaran (2012)  Electrochemical Treatment of Acid Green V dye solution in a tubular flow reactor   International Journal of Engineering Research and Development (IJERD) 1: 6. 67-74
Abstract: Electrochemical oxidation of synthetic aqueous Acid Green V dye solution was investigated in a tubular flow reactor using Ti/RuO2IrO2TiO2 as electrodes in NaCl electrolyte medium. The influence of effluent flow rate, initial dye concentration and the current density on COD reduction and color removal were studied and the power consumption computed. Percentage reduction in COD and color removal were found to be maximum(80% to 100%) at the minimum flow rate of 10 lph and the maximum current density of 2.5 A/dm 2 for all the effluent solutions of different initial concentrations. A flow rate of 30 lph and current density of 1.5 A/dm 2 was found to be optimal for lower power consumption.

Abstract: Low frequency electromechanical oscillations are inevitable characteristics of power systems and they greatly affect the transmission line transfer capability and power system stability. Traditionally, power system stabilizers (PSS) are being used to damp these oscillations. Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) is a well-known FACTS device that can control power flow in transmission lines. It can also replace PSS to damp low frequency oscillations effectively through direct control of voltage and power. In this paper a liberalized Philips-Heffron model of a (Single Machine– Infinite Bus) power system with a unified power flow controller is considered. The designed fuzzy-based UPFC controller adjusts four UPFC inputs by appropriately processing of the input error signal, and provides an efficient damping. The results of the simulation show that the UPFC with fuzzy-based controllers is effectively damping the LFO.

Vinayak Mhase, K R Sudarshan, Onkarsingh Pardeshi, Prasheel V Suryawanshi  Integrated Speed – Position Tracking with Trajectory Generation and Synchronization for 2 – Axis DC Motion Control   International Journal of Engineering Research and Development (IJERD) 1: 6. 61-66
Abstract: This paper describes an integrated speed-position control mechanism for 2 – axis of DC motors with precise synchronization. The trajectory for each axis is generated by setting acceleration and velocity. The speed control is adopted in an inner loop to ensure robustness of position of each axis against disturbances. The performance of speed and position control is tested in presence of load and variation in power supply voltage. The speed controllers are implemented using Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) algorithm; while position controllers are implemented using Proportional-Derivative (PD) algorithm. The integrated speed-position control is used to reduce position synchronization error caused by different motor dynamics. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control for 2-axis position synchronous control.
