Jose L. Medina-Franco received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 1998. That same year, he joined Procter & Gamble in Mexico City. He received a Master of Science degree in 2002 and a Ph.D. degree in 2005, both from the UNAM. In 2005, Dr. Medina Franco joined the University of Arizona as a postdoctoral fellow and he was named Assistant Member at the Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies in Florida in August 2007. In 2013, he conducted research at the Mayo Clinic and in 2014 he joined the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) as Principal Investigator and Full Time Research Professor. He leads the DIFACQUIM research group at UNAM (www.difacquim.com). The research focus is on chemoinformatics and computer-aided drug design with applications on epigenetic targets and natural products.
