Jim Neilas is a seasoned real estate professional with expertise in both the commercial and residential sectors. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in numerous real estate projects, from acquisition and development to financing.
Jim earned a BA with Honours from York University in 1995 and later attended Osgoode Hall Law School, graduating in 1998. He was called to the bar by the Law Society of Ontario in 2000 and remains a member in good standing.
Before founding his own financial services company in 2004, Jim served as the VP of Financing for a mid-size real estate company focused on acquiring and turning around smaller/mid-sized offices in Toronto's downtown core.
In 2004, Jim founded Neilas Inc., a Toronto-based real estate development company that aimed to fill the void in the marketplace for small-scale, higher-quality boutique condominiums. The company raised the bar for condominium design in Toronto, creating unique and beautiful living spaces in prime urban locations.
Neilas Inc.'s first completed development was the CUBE Lofts in the Little Italy neighborhood of Toronto, which received widespread public and media attention for its innovative design. The company also designed and marketed its Stage East Lofts development in Toronto's Leslieville neighborhood, which was similarly well-received.
In 2016, Jim rebranded Neilas Inc. to Storey Living, a premier luxury living development company. Under the new name, the company became known for its award-winning condominium projects and turned its attention to creating high-quality rental units to meet the growing demand for better rental options. While the company previously focused on land development, Jim recognized the need to signal its new direction and growth as a rental company. Today, Storey Living continues to set the standard for luxury living in Toronto and beyond.
