Dr. Jonghoon Choi received his Ph. D. from the University of Maryland in 2008 and M.S. in 2006 both majoring in chemical and biomolecular engineering. Dr. Choi received B.S. from the Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea in 2004 majoring in chemical engineering. Dr. Choi currently holds a dual post-graduate researcher position in the Russell H. Morgan Department of Radiology and Radiological Science at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and in the Biochemical Science Division at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) since Dec 2008. He was formerly a guest researcher at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Seoul, Korea in 2004. He was also a guest research scientist at NIST from May 2005 to Dec 2008 and a research fellow at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) from Jul 2007 to Dec 2008. Dr. Choi's current research projects aim at the development of multifunctional nanoparticles for in vivo optical and magnetic resonance imaging and targeted drug delivery applications. He has been the recipient of the Samsung Human Tech Best Thesis award in 2008 and multiple research grants from NIST and FDA. Dr. Choi has authored over 5 peer-reviewed papers and a number of conference proceedings.
