Dr. Treadwell is a clinical psychologist and a clinical and health services researcher at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland in Oakland, CA. Dr. Treadwell is co-principal investigator for the HRSA funded Pacific Sickle Cell Regional Collaborative that aims to improve sickle cell disease clinical services and policy, and enhance workforce development. Dr. Treadwell is co-investigator on Exploring Perspectives on Genomics and Sickle Cell Public Health Interventions, a Human Heredity and Health in Africa (H3Africa) consortium project funded by the National Human Genome Research Institute. Research interests include: patient reported outcomes (assessment and measurement development); transition from pediatric to adult care; adherence with medical regimens; factors influencing pain experiences and cross cultural models of health beliefs and practices. Dr. Treadwell obtained her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA USA and her training in clinical research from the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at UCSF in San Francisco, CA.
