
Dr. Shamsuddin Shahid obtained his PhD in Hydrogeology and Geophysics
from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India, in 2001. He started
his career as a Scientific Officer in the Space Research and Remote
Sensing Organisation, Bangladesh, in 1995. He joined Rajshahi University
of Bangladesh as an Assistant Professor in 2000. He worked as a Postdoctoral
Fellow in the Asian Institute of Technology of Thailand in 2005, a Postdoctoral
Fellow in Rhodes University of South Africa in 2006, and a Georg
Foster Fellow of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Jena University of
Germany in 2007. At present, he is working as a Visiting Senior Lecturer in the
Department of Geology, University of Malaya, Malaysia. His research interest includes groundwater hydrology, water resources management, climate variability and impacts, hydrological hazards monitoring, GIS, etc.
