Following the synthesis of kinematic structure for micro- and nano-manipulation tasks based on structured piezo ceramics and closed kinematic structures, a specific multilayer design of piezo actuated MHD for micro-and nano-operations was developed. The MHD was mathematically modelled and a FE\u2013model was created and simulated with the program system ANSYS. Comparison study of the MHD prototypes was performed using obtained experimental results. An experimental set up was created that aimed to verify the mathematical and simulation models measuring system behaviour like force, displacement and stiffness.","note":"","tags":"structured piezo ceramics, micro, nano, manipulators"} , {userid:"abdul_qader", "refid":"1","repocollections":"","attachment":"","_thumb":"","articletype":"article","sectionheading":"","title":"Structure-Based 3D\u2013QSAR and Molecular Docking Approach of N\u2013Benzylpiperidine Derivatives as Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitors to Design Anti\u2013Alzheimer Agents","year":"2014","author":"Abdul Qader M. Quantitative structure\u2013activity relationship (QSAR) \r\nstudies were performed using various physicochemical parameters on acetylcholinesterase \r\n(AChE) inhibitors, based on molecular docking scores, obtained by using molecular operating \r\nenvironment software (MOE), and absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and toxicity \r\nproperties (ADMET) were calculated using a toxicity estimation software tool (T.E.S.T). The \r\ndocking scores were used as molecular descriptors along with the steric and electrostatic field \r\nvalues of partially least square (PLS) analysis. The high leave one out (LOO) cross-validated \r\ncorrelation coefficient (Q2\r\n = 0.86) reveals that the model is a useful tool for the prediction of \r\ntest set as well as newly designed structures against AChE activity. The sequential multiple \r\nlinear regression method was used to develop a relationship between inhibitory activity and \r\nphysicochemical parameters. The statistically significant and physically meaningful QSAR \r\nmodel provided better insight into understanding the inhibitory behavior of those chemicals, \r\nwhich may provide useful information for the rational molecular design of N-benzylpiperidine \r\nderivatives anti-AChE and anti-AD agents. Consequently, based on these results, our models \r\nwould offer help to better comprehend the structure\u2013activity relationships existent for this \r\nclass of compounds and also facilitate the design of novel inhibitors with good chemical \r\nproperty, and the docking study provides a better understanding of the interaction between the \r\ninhibitors and AChE, which is helpful for the discovery of new compounds with more potency \r\nand central selectivity for AD. The paper aims to develop a design concept of the micro-pattern polymer substrates with specially located thin-sections. Microstructure for positioning of cells is located in the thin sections and is consistent with the possibility the substrate to be produced by injection molding. For this purpose an appropriate microstructure and the thickness of the substrate thin-sections are chosen according the impact of geometrical parameters and the location of microstructure. They are optimized by study their dependence on the parameters of the gate system and the substrate thickness on the process of mould filling. By the CD-based models developed a series of values of microstructure parameters and thin-section parameters were obtained. Relevant versions of the substrate design with cell-grooves are achieved. Results obtained states that the reduction the cell-grooves size and increasing the number of the thin-sections makes the mould filling difficult or impossible. In this case, it is advisable, the polymer substrate and thin-sections to be molded by injection molding, then cell-grooves can be further shaped by hot embossing.","note":"","tags":"Computer simulation, CD-based polymer substrate, cell immobilization, microfluidic feeding device."} ] } ; ajaxResultsLoaded(_ajax_res);
