R Baiocco (2005) Addicted behaviors in adolescence: A new psychometric instrument
assessing vulnerability to risk Faculty of Psychology, Sapienza University of Rome Abstract: The present research describes the construction and validation of a new questionnaire named Multidimensional Questionnaire for Adolescence (QMA; Baiocco, Couyoumdjian e Del Miglio, 2003). The questionnaire evaluates 2 control scales and 11 content scales: Sensation Seeking, Emotive Stability, Impulsiveness, Aggressiveness, Alexithymia, Social Introversion, Gregariousness, Practical Support, Emotional Support, Autonomy, Meta-cognition Capacity. This study evaluated the reliability and factorial validity of the QMA in a group of high school students. Concurrent validity was studied verifying the correlations with different instruments evaluating personality, attachment and self-efficacy variables. Analysis of variance pointed out significant gender differences on the different dimensions of the questionnaire. Factorial analysis revealed a three-factor solution, consonant with a psychological interpretation. In addition, the QMA demonstrated adequate estimates of internal reliability and good convergent validity with the all the instruments used in the study. Conclusions: The questionnaire was created with the principal aim of having an instrument, in the Italian context, to evaluate some important variables to describe the adolescent problematic behaviours.
