Krishibid Mohammad Shameem Al Mamun was born in 1978 at Ghatail in the district of Tangail, Bangladesh. He obtained B.Sc.Ag. (Hons.) and M.S. in Entomology degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh. He joined in Bangladesh Tea Research Institute (BTRI) as Scientific Officer (Entomology) in 2007. Later he awarded P.G.D. in Tea Plantation Management with Grade A+ from Kothari Agricultural Management Centre (KAMC), Tamil Nadu, India in 2010. Bio-ecology of pests, Crop loss assessment, Bioassay and resistance of pests, Screening of pesticides for tea, Integrated Pest Management in tea, Bio-pesticides & Bi-control as IPM component, Screening tea clones for pest susceptibility and Pesticide residue in tea are the field of research works. He has 44 national and international publications related to integrated pest management including two international books. He is also a resource person of Management Training Centre, Project Development Unit, Bangladesh Tea Board. He obtained diverse training on Basic Training on Computer Application, MS Office, Tea Culture, Agricultural Project Management, Pesticide Residue Analysis in Tea and Research Methodology from home and abroad. He visited South Indian tea plantation as a delegate of Bangladesh Tea with the foreign delegates of Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Malawi and Nepal. Mr. Mamun attended many national & international seminars including 116th UPASI Annual Conference on “Commodity Outlook” and UPASI TRF Seminar on “Tea Husbandry” in India. He also associated with different national and international professional organization and societies such as Krishibid Institution, Bangladesh; Bangladesh Entomological Society; Weed Science Society of Bangladesh; Tocklai Forum (Scientist to Scientist), India; Entomological Society of America; SAARC Agrinet, NARS Bangla; Tea Professional Welfare Society, Bangladesh; Global Forum on Food Security and Nutrition.
