Dr Badwal is currently a Chief Research Scientist with CSIRO Energy Technology. He is also Research Group Leader of the “Fuel Cell, Ionics and Storage” capability covering Energy Technology research in fuel cells, batteries, and gas separation membranes. He was a key member of the CSIRO’s team that established Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited (CFCL) – a Company formed, from his team’s research activities, in 1992 to research, develop and commercialise the solid oxide fuel cell technology. He was CFCL’s Chief Operating Officer and Director Research & Development from its inception to 1997 and General Manager Technology Strategy from 1997 to 1999 on secondment from CSIRO.
