Dr. Vionnie W. C. Yu is a Principal Investigator at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, Cambridge, USA. Prior to joining Novartis, she was an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Harvard University. She received her BSc. in Cell Biology & Genetics from the University of British Columbia and Ph.D. in Human Genetics from McGill University, Canada. Upon completing her Ph.D studying bone development under the mentorship of Professor Rene St-Arnaud, Dr. Yu moved to Boston to receive first-rate training in hematopoietic stem cell research under the mentorship of Professor David Scadden, the co-founder of the Harvard Stem Cell Institute. Dr. Yu's current research leverages her background in both areas of bone and blood, and investigates how hematopoietic stem cell function is regulated by the bone marrow microenvironment.
