M. Qasim Wafayezada received his doctorate in international relations from Kanazawa University, Japan. He earned his Masters Degree on International Communications. He was awarded MONBUKAGAKUSHO Scholarship from 2007-2013. His research focus has been on ethnic politics, democratization and peacebuilding in post-conflict multiethnic societies. As a practitioner, he was expert of social and cultural affairs within the Secretariat of the Ministers' Council of Afghanistan. Wafayezada has also worked extensively with Afghan media, namely as editor in chief of Mardum Weekly, editor in chief of Misaq Wahdat Weekly, etc. Currently he is Policy and Planning Deputy Director General of Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority and teach International relations in Gawhar Shad University.
